Resultant of concurrent coplanar force system: Example 5

This problem is taken from the book of Vector Mechanics by Beer and Johnston. In the book this problem is solved graphically, with very less calculations. Here I have attempted to solve the question using resolution of forces method (analytical method). This is a general method which can effectively be used for solving almost all types of problem related to concurrent coplanar force system. This method can also be used to resolve the resultant force into two components which are not at right angles(part a of the problem). This method should not be used when unknown quantities are two angles. At that time you should prefer graphical method and you will get two set of solutions.
