Glanzmann Thrombasthenia (GT) is an autosomal recessive defect in the GPIIb/IIIa (GP2b/3a) receptor on the platelet which leads to defective platelet aggregation. Ristocetin Cofactor Assay (RIPA) is usually abnormal in cases of Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS). No talk of a cure o id="hidden18"r effective treatment besides steroids or a transfusion if they drop below 10k. Is there any way to improve immune targeting? A way to get the macrophages to stop eating the platelets long term without compromising immunity?. ...Expand

    I'm missing sthg . why do anti-D immunoglobulins cause hemolysis here while in the pregnant female it prevents fetal RBCs hemolysis?
