These soft and chewy monster cookies have BIG notes of peanut butter and chocolate and some added texture from old fashioned oats. The recipe is basically foolproof and a complete crown pleaser so there’s NO excuse not to make them. For an added bit of monster fun try popping some candy eyes on top of the cookies just after baking. They come together in a snap and are beyond easy to make! @klrp32483 years ago I've made these twice since this video came out. I did crunchy peanut butter but kept everything else the same. Family absolutely loved them. Second time, I did 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips, and 1/2 cup dark chocolate M&Ms. Whole family said they tasted even better. Husband thinks they're crack, and I was told by two people I could sell these. Thank you so much! It made me so happy to make something my whole family loves so much ... 14

@sherry25193 years ago I just finished making these cookies and let me tell you! They took FOREVER to mix. Why? My 2.5 year old granddaughter knows how to count to 20. We couldn’t just measure out one cup of M & M’s, could we? Nope. Had to count them in 20’s. We also had to name all the colors. 😂
We had such a great time. The end result was : one happy toddler, one messy kitchen, one tired Grammy and a batch of very delicious cookies!
    Thank you for the recipe.

@nellyp26223 years ago One of the grocery stores here sell monster cookies that are made in store. They used to be giant and packed with mini m&ms and had a really chewy consistency but in recent years they made them not as big, scaled back how many mini m&ms they used and cooked them longer so they weren’t as good as they used to be but we’re still good. ... 2

@jengentry063 years ago LOVE monster cookies! I'm totally a chewy cookie person, so I would probably undercook these a bit and let them finish up on the cookie sheet for a few minutes outside of the oven. 1

@kennarose7833 years ago Oh my gosh! That reminds me of something from my childhood. We used to get these packages called "Happy Mail" a couple times a year as a present. @LaurieEggleston373 years ago My mom used to teach young girls how to cook (She was a legal secretary and taught these classes on the weekends) and she had a recipe very similar to this one but she called it "Ranger Girls Cookies". She wouldn't use ingredients that were too expensive so that these girls could replicate their recipes at home so no M&Ms but she would buy a huge bag of chocolate chips and send home little bags with each girl. They would take their dough home to chill and bake. I can't wait to try these! They look "Ah-MAZ-ing"! Thank you for this recipe and the bonus childhood memory! ...

@Fuzzi9743 years ago So, as a kid (25-30 years ago) I would have mooth peanut butter on bread (possibly toast) with sugar on top (cane sugar). I also invented by myself avocado toast(mashed), with salt on top... or with salt and pepper. I was surprised when it became a thing 25 years later. Sliced green mangoes (green to just starting to get sweet), as in, cut like big fries, that I would dit in salt, pepper, chilli (powder or paste made from fresh) was my healthy snack, I still do the avocado toast and the green mangoes sometimes, although I don't live anywhere near where those grow now, and I don't get good ones. Ah, and toast (made with baguettes) with butter, then blueberries (or in my case since it was jam from France, Bilberries) that I would dunk in cold/room temp milk... that was my all time fav.
Ah, good times, I need to buy some baguettes, butter and Bonne Maman's Bilberry jam and do that again.

@szvetlana10003 years ago In Hungary where I grew up 20-30 year ago, our school provided an afternoon snack around 3pm which was: 2-3 fillets of sardines in a piece of bread, cookies (bit like graham crackers) and warm black tea with lemon and sugar, bread roll with a slice of processed meat, semolina pudding sprinkled with sugar and either cocoa powder or cinnamon, bread roll with a cream cheese triangle (like the laughing cow) and my absolute favourite: chicken liver pate on a slice of bread with fresh slices of pepper on top. These snacks are all so dear to my generation ❤️
I would love to know what were the childhood snacks of people all over the world!

@mjrussell4143 years ago I think I have heard of these cookies way back in my memory banks. Seems like they have everything yummy in them. Oh yes, toast with butter and crunchy peanut butter. I forgot how good that is. We were more free range as kids in the 70’s and didn’t have fancy snacks, but when I was five I invented my own after kindergarten snack of oatmeal mixed with corn syrup made into little balls, or just the raw oatmeal with brown sugar. Weird I know but I liked it. Impressive you got both eggs in that tiny bowl. Very brave of you. Definitely will give these a try again. ...
